Location and Qualification
Located in the heart of Europe, the Central Germany Metropolitan Region fronts seven towns and cities, five districts, several universities, a number of chambers of industry and commerce, and over 50 major corporations in the states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. It’s the economic powerhouse of eastern Germany – and apart from Berlin-Brandenburg (the area in and around the German capital), it’s also the only metropolitan region there. Owing to the very good economic environment, since 1990 CGMR’s active members have developed into key players in a wide range of future technologies. And apart from the many international corporations working there, the basis for sustainable development is above all provided by innovative medium-sized companies.
